Evening skincare routine

11 July 2014

It wasn't very long ago that I posted my morning skin care routine and I didn't want to leave a big gap (as what accidently tends to happen) I thought I would show you lovely beauties my evening skin care routine. When I say evening skincare routine what I mean is makeup removing routine at night. The first part is when I remove makeup and second part is before sleep :) I will only talk about products in detail they haven't been mentioned already in my morning skin care routine here.

Quick make up removing
So I have all that makeup you know 'mascara and the rest not going to list everything'. I start with makeup wipes, I used to use simple but recently changed to say yes to cucumber wipes which I'm not that happy with, (I'm trying to use them up) but I only use them for my eye makeup so it's okai. So before I get any 'oh my god she uses wipes' I'm guilty! But I do only use for the eyes yhh and any lippy. I recently brought the 'YES to grapefruit wipes' which I so prefer over the cucumber ones.

Two step cleanse- lotion and oil
Secondly I do a 2 step cleanse, first with a lotion- organic purity cleansing lotion to remove my makeup then with an oil cleanser Merumaya cleanser to clean my skin. I massage this into my skin and slowly add water and massage further until the oil turns into a milk cleanser, I use a hot cloth to remove (any will do even a flannel) I rinse my face with warm water.

Face mask
I usually apply a face mask- use different ones on different days depending on my skin. Then take a shower after this step then move onto the second stage of cleansing. I will hopefully be doing different masks post, I know I did promise along time ago and I don't what happened in the time in between but will do soon, and also a post on natural masks :)

Exfoliating and or toner
I use cotton pads and my exfoliating toner all over my face- this acts as a very gentle exfoliate. I use this only twice a week as exfoliators can stripe the skin, I use my lush toner or other days.

Serum
I use my serum ester lauder- or I sometimes use my La Roche Posay or the vitamin E by Body shop by tapping motion on my skin. A serum helps to get into the deeper layers of the skin.

Night cream
Now time for my night cream- love Origins Nightamins packed full of with vitamins and minerals, its a really thick nourishing cream. At night our skin is often repairing itself.

Eye cream and Lip balm
I use my eye cream again in the night and of course a lip balm because my lips are usually dry.

Spots
If  have any spots I apply the Origins spot remover on any spots as it dries out the spot.

Although this may seem so long for some people I have been forcing myself to keep up and do this routine as looking after your skin is essential and investing in skin. Makeup should come after skincare. Also you skin repairs itself during the night so it's essentials to give the right vitmains and oils.

All of the above products can be brought from Boots and other department stores, except the Merumaya cleansing oil from John Lewis. the organic cleansing lotion from Hollands and Barrats.

I have also done my morning skincare routine.

Freebies :)

09 July 2014

I'm ao excited to announce that you beauty lovers can get your hands on some freebies! I mean who doesn't like freebies? especially when they are high end makeup and skincare products! oh yhh :)

In this month's issue's (August) there are some very fabulous things up for grabs.

Red magazine are giving away the radial lip balm worth around £20!

Marie Clare are giving away the balance me cleanse and smooth face balm or balance me rich moisture cream which again cost around £20 each, I wanted to try the balance me cleanse and smooth face balm but now I can without the splurge! they changed the formula of these, before there was oat bits in it which now they have made it very fine.. It contains natural products.

Cosmopolitan are giving away new cid lip and cheek crayon tint in 3 different shades and also a mascara to choose from. the lip tints are very pigmented!

The most exciting one of all is Glamour magazine giving away Clinique freebies, including chubby sticks, finally Iv'e had all these dupes but I can have the original! in the shades woppin watermelon and super strawberry. A mascara that is really good and lastly the dramatically different moisturiser!

It was very difficult to get hold of these freebies especially the chubby sticks which seem to be out of stock everywhere, but in the end my searching paid off! =D the things we do haha

Hair routine for my damaged hair :(

07 July 2014

This post is rather on a sad note, only due to the fact that dip dying my hair with Loreal's ombre kit has left my hair rather damaged I shall say. It has vastly changed the texture of my hair, my hair went from fine smooth and silly to frizzy and crispy! so beware of this hair dye, however I have dyed my hair in the past with no reactions using the other brands and Loreal's dyes, so it was probably the bleach in the dip dye.

At first I didn't really notice much but as time went on... :((

So what's happened has happened and the only thing I can do is either shave my hair of :o definitely not going to happen or use products that will help restore and repair my hair! second option please!
Btw guys sorry if I'm repeating some of the things I've mentioned in previous posts! which was a very long time ago.. This is kind of more like my weekly thing I do to my hair.

I can't believe all this time I was using the wrong shampoo *well done Yaz clever cloggs* this time I opted for a shampoo and conditioner for damaged hair *duhh that would be what you pick*

I've never used this before and it contained argon oil which is about the only oil i can stomach (I have a very strong nose when it comes to oils.) while I was blogging the other day I accidently left the conditioner on for 1 and half hours (how time flies when blogging) after I washed my hair it was so soft and it looked and felt much better. So I made a note to myself every week I will use this conditioner leaving it on for 1 hour or 2.

Recognise this little tool, yhh it's my tangle teaser, although I have been hearing the wet brush is better, yhh noo??

I like to brush out my hair and blow dry (heat can't be too good) so I try and use the cold setting on my dryer. Then spray a bit of this, the 'Brazilian smooth therapy by OGX' which further smooth's out my hair.

I often use the 'strengthens and repair split ends binder by Charles Worthington' on the ends of my hair and I feel a difference on the ends of my hair where my split ends are minimised.

On other days or before washing my hair maybe twice a month which I definitely need to increase I apply this oil to the roots to the ends, it smells nice and doesn't make my hair greasy. I wash it using the steps above. This argon oil of morocco is quite inexpensive to buy and can be purchased from Superdrugs.

You can purchase all the above products from Boots, Superdrugs and maybe most supermarkets. They are very affordable and I really like the Charles Worthington range as well as the Organix OGX range because they are very effective.

Morning skincare routine

04 July 2014

Obviously I use products depending on how my skin is that day but this is my basic morning cleansing routine that I use on most days. I have done one previously but my skincare has vastly changed so I thought an update was due...

Before I begin my post I wanted to discuss my skin, I'm 21 years old, I have very dehydrated skin (I do drink water! maybe not enough I guess) my skin is dry mainly on my forehead and nose, and gets flaky on my forehead. on the rest of my face I would say normal to dry. And I get breakouts, they disappear then come back then disappear again..

Cleanser
If my skin looks a bit rough or still have a little bit of makeup residue and I think it needs a bit of clean I use purity cleansing lotion by organic skincare can be purchased from Hollands and Barrats for £5.25, it's a gentle lotion using natural organic ingredients. It cleanses very well and is actually Lisa Eldrige's recommendation. Or I just use a nice fresh scrub or face wash e.g. the apricot scrub.

Toner
I use the lush Eau Roma water toner which can also be used a spot of hydration throughout the day, its again very gentle. I like that its a spray without faffing about looking for cotton pads. can be used on even on those with sensitive skin cost 3.95 from Lush and has rose water that calms redness as well as lavender water that balances and softens the skin.

Serum
If my skin is feeling quite spotty or I can feel them breakouts I like to use my La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo (I love this stuff, highly recommend!!) I use it like a serum under my moisturiser both day and night. I have seen my skin improve with this. This can be purchased from boots for £15.50 and there are always good offers on. This is aimed for oily blemish-prone skin but again even those sensitive skin types can use it, I mean I have dry skin and it's perfectly fine on me. This reminds me I actually need to repurchase a new one as mine is coming to an end but still trying to squeeze out the last bit of quantity haha

Spot Treatment
Again optional if there are spots, simple spot zapper, I just use it to dab it on the spots, it has a cooling sensation has chamomile. This stuff actually works, I notice the spot reduced in size. Although I use the Effaclar Duo, I use this on the spot itself, you can buy from Savers for 2 or £3.99 or  boots sell this for £5.49

Moisturiser
For moisturising, as I have quite dehydrated skin, I really like using the Clinique moisture surge extended thirst relief.. I was using the Origins Ginzing moisturiser which I thought was too light in consistency and didn't do much, although it's only been a month or two that I have been using the Clinique moisturiser, I do really like it and it's one I will repurchase unless I find a cheaper alternate. It's thick but once on the skin it sinks in quick, and when you put it on a noticeable hydration sinks in like someone literally splashed some hydration on your face! Haha. I also tried the kiels ultra facial cream which has 24hour lasting hydration but I still prefer this over that. retails for £34, you can buy it in Boots and department stores

Eye Cream
Lastly one step that most people miss out or think it's not that important but when your in your 20's you should start using an eye cream. This is essential as the skin under our eye is very delicate and thin. The Kiels creamy eye treatment is perfect as it has avocado which is excellent for under the eyes, dark circles, lines. John Lewis sell this for £20, you can also buy from other department stores and Kiels own store.

Lip balm
Oh nearly forgot lip balm, of course I have lots of different ones including drugstore ones, however I love  Dior crème de rose lip balm a lot and it's by far my favourite, as my lips tend to blister is I use lip balms (wierdly) this one makes my lips so soft! And perfect for lipstick costing £20 and can buy from Debenhams and other department stores and Boots.

I think I will post my night routine separately as this post has become quite long haha, I need an SPF so if you guys know any good one please recommended below, I don't mind drugstore or high end as long as it's good xx

June favourites!

02 July 2014

This month I have been loving a lot of products which I have previously already mentioned for instance my mac mineralise blush in gentle! Perfect for this time of year. I had to think long and hard about all the products I have used a lot and loved using them! and guess what as usual there's a whole list of things! (guilty) haha!

I have a number of skin care products this month, firstly the Clarins gentle exfoliating toner, I don't know but I haven't been using this a lot and my skin was getting little breakouts and I wasn't sure why, so after my cleansing routine I decide to reach out for a toner so my skin will get further cleaning with a toner and also to close the pores AND exfoliate my skin gently, as I have dry skin (didn't want to strip the skin) I noticed my skin clearing up and also felt much better after use. Used this about twice a week.

Second skin care product is my Clinique moisture surge extended thirst relief! OMG this stuff is packed with hydration, although it's thick it sinks right in.

I'm more of a shower girl than a bath person as it's quick and refreshing, I leave baths to like once a week and take showers once or twice a day. This means a lot of product gets used up, a product that I love to use to feel refreshed is the Original Source mint and tea tree! The smell is just, getting me feeling tingled right now thinking about it haha

This isn't the best eyelash curler, ELF eyelash curler, but it does the job ...mental note to wish list Shuemera  eyelash curlers... Curling my lashes before applying mascara has become my new thing, I wasn't all that faffed before but I see why all the make up artist do it.

I have a lot of lipsticks, a bit too many I say or people say haha but one lipstick that I love as one of my mlbb is Mac velvet teddy, it's got that pretty peachy undertone for my lips. One that's always in my makeup bag alongside mac faux!

Brushes brushes brushes! I often change what I use them for, the Ecotools brushes are really good drugstore brushes, I use the blusher brush for contouring! I like that it doesn't give such a harsh line when contouring.

Lastly the Soap and Glory hocus pocus (instant visual flaw softening illuminator)! I love this especially under my Lo'real true match foundation and this has that perfect golden shade, just perfect for my skin for summer!

Is there any posts you would like me to do? What have you been loving? Comment below :)
