August Monthly Favourites

30 August 2014

Favourites time again! I probably say that every month haha
End of the month and also an end to the summer, well in UK at least judging by the cold weather that has already us, although I am looking forward to my cosy jumpers ha ha!

I have spoke  a lot about this so obviously it had to crop up in my monthly favourites!! You've guessed it my bourjois bronzing primer, which I have done a review on my previous post.

I have been running out of my cleanser and didn't want to buy a new one but rather use up old cleansers. The Una brennan at first I really didn't like it but I thought let me just use it- OMG! It is soooo goood! Like what was wrong with me! It brightens and really cleans my skin!

In the mornings I don't really like to use a cleanser as I have used it night before, but I've been quite liking using Garnier face wash and mask but as a wash. I mix the product with water and apply on my face and rise off as a quick was. Would use this everyday though.

Next although I really like my soap and glory archery it has come to an end, the felt tip side anyway, and I wanted something lighter, collection eyebrow has been wonderful, and its so cheap, I have the colour taupe, highly recommend!

Obviously I have a lot of love for my Mac lipstick, and this super pretty sheer nude pink colour is right up my street, Mac Patisserie.
Left- Mac Patissierie// Collection Taupe

End this post with one of my recent but not unheard of product, Bobbi brown Foundation stick a full coverage but natural looking foundation, which i have been using a lot a lot! And also have carried with me everywhere. Its just very convenient, I use it as a concealer, foundation!

What have you been loving? X

A key to summer would be to wear bright and vibrant but keep the makeup natural!

Bourjois Bronzing primer Review

24 August 2014

I'm sure you have heard me using this bronzer a lot, as I have mentioned it again and again. I cam across this product after I saw the Chanel sole tan I think it's called, in the beauty world. I was speaking to my friend about the Chanel one and she told me to try this.

I tried it and I absolutely love it! Another Bourjois product that has made me happy, I do really like Bourjois :)

I guess it's very similar to the Chanel sole tan as I think Bourjois and Chanel are both made in the same factory or they're sister companies, Something like that anyway!

The Bourjois bronzing primer is a thick moose texture, similar to that of Maybelline dream moose foundation in that pot. The Chanel one I would say is a cream. I like to apply it with a stippling brush, as I do with cream blushers and it blends really nicely to give a semi powdery finish without looking powdery. The colour is in between orange and brown, so a very nice natural bronzing shade but not really for contouring I would say.

I am so glad I didn't buy the Chanel one which is quite expensive compared to this which is under a tenner! Glad to have not made that splurge and in stead can spend that money towards something else.

You can use this on it's own with no foundation, just a bit of bronzed look, under foundation as a primer, on top of your foundation. I prefer to use it on top, although if I do use it underneath my foundation as a base I often go over it with powder once I have applied my foundation! And it lasts all day..

Would you like any other reviews of any products I have mentioned in any of my posts comment away :)

Evening wear- summer edition

20 August 2014

Keeping to the summer theme by wearing this floral top but jazzing it up by jewellery, black leather style clutch and these snazzy heels. All though its evening its usually warm so stick to a kimono!

#WIMB 2- Summer edition

16 August 2014

I love watching videos on You tube about these kind of things, I think because I'm nosey haha!
I don't know about you but in the Summer I like to be light weight and carry less things, because I feel hot and bothered, whether it is during the day or evening out.

I love envelope style big clutches, this is black with this leather feel to it and this pretty gold detailing! This is from Accessorize

All the things inside my clutch:

I carry a small purse also from Accessorize because I hate carrying big purses as they tend take up a lot of room. This note book is little and handy if I want to perhaps write anything for example my wish list haha. And with it this super pretty pen. I always need a brush to apply my blusher. A hand sanitizer is a must for disgusting trains in London, and after to moisturise my hand- Nivea soft, cheap but very nice. A deodorant and a spray mist for Sumner.

Inside my purse, a oyster card, change(cash) credit/debit cards, mirror, lipstick, keys, foundation use as concealer for touch ups, and lastly blusher

Mac lipstick Please Me, Topshop blusher neon rose, Bobbi Brown foundation stick in 4.5

Everyday makeup- summer edition

14 August 2014

This is part of my summer editions post, the first of which is makeup ofcourse!
This is everything that I have been using for most days in the summer!

Starting with spf as ive mentioned in my previous post how important it is to protect the skin even if its just sunny outside but not necessarily hot. the higher the SPF the better.

Foundation and concealer, obviosly I love my bobbi brown corrector to get ride of dark circles but I haven't been reaching for a concealer just my foundation! This brush is exellent for applying this! not all brushes work.

This foundation isn't oily but it is very creamy so just in case I would suggest to use a translucent powder, I ofcourse like my kick ass powder and as ever love to apply with my RT blush brush

As always I have mentioned for summer time bronzing is a must, been loving this I'm sure you all know (Review should be coming up next week) applying this with a stippling brush is the best, and a suttle cream blusher to blend in. Top shop blushers are very pigmented so little goes a long way, and also I really like the Revlon cream blushers.

I have dark brown eyes (very dark) and purple really compliments them so I've opted for this beautiful eyeliner from rimmel alonside loreal mascara. I think you need these bright liners in the summer to brighten up the natural look.

Didn't do anything to my brows, they look quite tamed haha x

To top it off with this very pretty pink shade from mac, mac please me! should I do an updated mac lipsticks post? comment below.. the collection has increased since the last time! (oops!)

Thanks for reading- Yaz x

My Foundation collection

13 August 2014

Yes, no sane person has this many foundations! I have a range of drugstore and high end foundations, some of which I use more than others, and also like better at different times of the year for example in the summer I love matte finishes, and winter time I prefer my dewy foundations. I don't think you need glowy foundations in the summer, naturally we sweat and all that!

For reference I am a Mac C4/ NC40.
I have yellow golden undertones and a medium skin shade.
I have dry skin, often very dry in the winter.
I use to think I like light coverage foundations but really I like medium to thick coverage but light inconsistency nothing cakey please!

My favourite foundation out of the whole collection (I have two one drugstore and one high end) I can't believe it's taken me this long to try this foundation by L'oreal, it is the best ever, like seriously I would say it's the best out of even high end, and that's saying something!

Shade: w4 golden natural
Medium to thick coverage
Long lasting
Semi matte finish

These are my next foundations that I mainly use or love after my favourite two:

Nars sheer glow foundation
Shade: Barcelona Medium 4
Full coverage foundation
Semi matte finish
Not sheer or glowy
End of day face gets little greasy
Some shades always out of stock, silly Nars
Doesn't come with a pump! annoying, and when you buy the pump, the lid doesn't fit on top!
Highend £31
Recommend using Zoeva silk finish brush
Purchase: Selfridges, SpaceNK, Nars Online, House Of Frazer, ASOS

Bourjois happy light foundation
Shade: 53 Golden beige
Light to medium coverage more on light
Natural luminous finish
Cheep and cheerful

Beach Wear

10 August 2014

Summer holiday's are upon us, and we are forever going out and about, but what to wear? This is what I would wear if was going to the beach/ sea side!

The main theme would be less is more, and natural.

-Wear light makeup, preferably a bb cream and water proof mascara!
-Kimono's are so out this year, I love this beautiful kimono from Top shop pared with a coral maxi skirt.
-A big sun hat or tan hijab :)
- cool sunglasses are a must
- And of course a big beach bag to put everything in such as drinks, snacks, towels
- Don't forget plenty of SPF to protect your skin and body!
Very VERY important, my recent discovery: soap and glory sun shield; my comparison post with Kiehls HERE

What else do you recommend?

Brush Cleansers The options!

09 August 2014

For all you beauties I have done a very useful post which I have been meaning to do for a while.. We all buy brushes, some perhaps more than others (unnecessarily like me =O) We often use them a lot, apply makeup but when it comes to cleaning we often neglect them, or this routine becomes so long! Which obviously can't be good as there will be a build up of bacteria. and so on...

However this is a post on what to use for cleaning your brushes, I have already mentioned in my other posts that I use shampoo and conditioner, some people use fancy brush cleansers, I also have the mac cleanser for a quick everyday cleanse. My step by step process on how to clean brushes will be linked here :)

Buying a separate brush cleanser may not be up everyone's street, and using shampoo followed by conditioner may be a long process as well, and often your brushes will smell like your hair (if you like that then it's ok, I find it weird if I'm honest, because when I change up shampoo's some of them smell stronger than others, it's cool on the hair people not on my face!)

I have been trying just normal anti bacterial hand wash here and there without intention and realised, hang on a second, (fancy revelation music here**) TADA! This actually cleans my brushes really well, gets rid of all the nasty gunk and bacteria as well as making them very soft! This is also waaay quicker and cheaper! I still use the same process in cleaning them. And by the way you don't need no  fancy ones posh nosh hand washes just what you use to clean your hands with! Any brand any make. The one below is the one I am currently using.

Hope you liked this post! Will be trying to update more often now :) any suggestions or questions, comment below or even on my Instagram @yasmiinella

Essentials in my wardrobe, And Yours!

07 August 2014

There are particular items which I think every girl needs in her wardrobe!

Every girl needs a mac lipstick, like seriously I don't think I have found any other that could beat then whether highend or drustore, the formulas the shades you name it, especially the nudes LOVE it!! And they have a selection for everyone.

My Holy grail foundation is none other than true match foundation by Loreal. Have no idea why I hadn't discovered this any sooner, cheap and cheerful and is as good as any highend!

All the clothing item speaks for itself haha

This is a quick post for you all, as I am very busy, I will be however doing a full post probably friday or the weekend any suggestions comment below - Yasmin xx

Neon for summer

06 August 2014

A quick post-
I love neon colours dressed with monochrome especially yellow :) I chose rose gold / peach jewellery/ as I think it looks super cute with the yellow. If you wear a hijab I would suggest either wearing a black or nude colour hijab and probably a kimono on top preferbly black!

I will do more outfit ideas and hopefully update my blog on a regular basis, if you like comment below

Love you- Yasmin

My drugstore SPF?

05 August 2014

As we are in the middle of the summer, I tend to forget the most basic and important step in my day to day routine, of course SPF! and I mean a high SPF like say 50+ It's very important to protect your skin against the weather including sun protection humidity etc. I think I have found my drugstore dupe for the Kiehls.. Yay me!!

KIEL'S Ultra Light Daily UV Defence
I haven't heard a lot of good drugstore SPF's and I know most high-end ones are very good but they do come along with an expensive price tag. For example the Kiehl's Ultra light daily UV defence, which is one that I have been long thinking about purchasing as it is one of the most raved about on Youtube and the blog world but the price tag of £31 always put me off. I was just about to buy it as  gave up on finding something as good but cheaper but than once again thought and decided to take home a sample instead.

I did really like it as it's like a moisturiser and primer in one however before I go back to Kiehl's I decided doing further research in case I do come across a cheaper alternative! Proud to say I have!!

SOAP & GLORY Make Yourself Youthful Sunshield SuperFluid
None other than soap and glory, which is one of my favourite brands of the high street. Soap and glory sun shield contains the same SPF 50+ as the Kiehl's and also protection against UVA rays and UVB rays. Already liking this product. S&G has Vitamin C and E which is really good for the skin as we all know and also Liposhield HEV melanin which protects against aging skin and pigmentation- all good stuff.

The Difference-
Its a thin liquid that quickly melts into your skin, which I will say is a tad more lighter in consistency than the Kiehls. Kiehls I will say is fragrance free but this does have a hint of gentle fragrance which isn't too noticeable but I guess soap and glory isn't soap and glory without their signature smells! haha! This product also combats oily skin as it's slightly matte-fying which is all good for the summer whether because although I have dry skin, a day out in London in this weather does tend to make my face a bit glowy- not in a good way!

Oh the last thing which I have to highlight, soap and glory's sun shield was a fraction of the price costing £15, that's an amazing deal of saving £16! but still having the benefits. and I haven't even included all the amazing 3 for 2 offers and promotion deals you can get on soap and glory in Boots :) And guys how cute it the packaging! It is so compact, like the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation bottle! Love it!

I usually apply my moisturiser, then apply a little of this on my face, al though it looks yellowish, I promise you it is clear on the face.. I then carry on with my makeup routine.

Is the any particular posts you beauties would like to read about, leave it in the comments..
 Love You X

July monthly favourites!

02 August 2014

Hello beauties!

I have been super busy with ramadan, Eid celebrations and all my courswork! So I apologise, but I am here with my monthly favourites, can't believe how these go past very quickly!

This month I haven't got so many makeup favourites funnily enough! Only because I have been trying to use up all my old, and untouched makeup and also wearing less makeup!

This isn't exactly an untouchable makeup product, but i'm always using my mac blushers and not so much of my gazzilion other blushers so I'm trying to use them too. Natural collection blushers are  pigmented and super pretty and only cost around 2 pound! I'm sure if you read my blog you will already know!

Summer's here so time to bronze up, I love borujois products and this bronzer is really nice, been using it everyday. I've recently brought their bronzing primer which I have been loving so far, probably do a review on it soon :) again I haven't got anything new to say about this that I havn't mentioned before!

Ardell lashes are very much raved about, I brought these ones for Eid, demi wispies, I love how it looks when it is worn, it flares out! And I brought them from a hair shop.

One clothing product, this kimono from h&m, it's black, can also buy in white. The cut out floral print allows clothing worn underneath to show up. I don't like the kimono's with strings attached personally so this looked perfect. I've worn this with trousers, skinnies, fitted skirts... literally! I've worn this on top of any outfits. This cost around £20.

Sometimes I felt my skin needed a pick me up, bieng tired dehydrated and grtting one or two spots. This is a very good mask! It instantly clears your skin and makes it bright! I've worn this every week and especially night before Eid!

Lastly this eye mask from bodyshop! I've been trying this out, from bieng awake till 3 due to fasting, and coming from outside in the hot day, not eating or drinking i've tried relaxing wearing this eye mask. I usually came home put this in the fridge took a shower then placed this on. Feels so nice and cooling!

What have you been enjoying this month? X
