Ramadan Mubarak Everyone!

28 June 2014

This is just a quick post on wishing you all Ramadan Mubarak in this blessed and holy month. To all my muslim followers and also non-muslim followers :)

Ramadan is the 9th month in the Islamic calender. The first day of ramadan starts based on the sighting of the moon, from which muslims all around the world fast for 29 or 30 days again based on the sighting of the moon. Fasting is also one of the five pillars of Islam. All though our calendar is based on the moon it is slightly different to the lunar calendar which is based on astrology.

We do not consume food or water from dawn (sehri) until sunrise (Iftar). It is the time we give our self training and reminder of how to be Muslims as we may forget things from time to time and the increase of good deeds while trying to avoid doing sins. We reflect upon life and a month we get forgiven. This is the month the first verses of the Quran was revealed to the Prophet peace be upon him. At Iftar (time we break our fast) we start by eating dates (if you like it) and water and then eat many things as a family that we have prepared. The best time hehe

In this special month, We feel closer to our lord and we try and be better muslims, the reading of the Holy Quran and praying is increased. The gates of paradise is open and the doors of hell is locked. The night of power (Laylat-ul-Qadr) falls on one of the last ten days in which whoever prays on this night their sins will be forgiven, InShaAllah, this night the Quran was revealed.

We celebrate the end of ramadan with the festival of Eid where we exchange gifts, pray, visit one another, wear new clothes, and eat! But obviously eating moderately!

Many people ask is it not difficult but It's actually not that hard, you only feel hungry from time to time but its faith that's important! Hope you all have a good Ramadan!
P.s I may be doing weekly posts on what I did that week such as what I ate etc :)

My top drugstore lipglosses

26 June 2014

Now when it comes to lipsticks, nearly all brands come up with ranges of formulas with very nice colours but when it comes to lip glosses I'm a little more picky, they're either so glittery that I feel like a five year old or so sticky that everything sticks to it like its makeup not glue! or the colours are just not right.

NYX mega shine lip gloss: beige
Some of these are raved about already as it is.. So I'm sure your familiar with some! Starting with Nyx beige lipgloss that  hardly matches the name, (like its not beige what so ever?) in fact it is a very pretty pink mlbb shade! Although this is little on the sticky side I dont find it majorly sticky, the colour pay off is really nice and the smell... Bubblegum mmmm.. The packaging isnt all that but I really like the pretty bow on the lid :) what I love best about this is wearing it on top of a nude lipstick, it gives the prettiest look ever! Nyx can be purchased online on the Nyx website and even Next sell Nyx products now. This cost £4.50.

Maybelline colour sensational cream: Coral blush

Let's get the glittery one out of the way now, when I say glitter I repeat I don't mean the 'pretend makeup' a 6year old wears, but rather specs of gold blended with the peach colour of the lipgloss which I don't mind at all but adds to the effect, and nothing too major! This lipgloss is not sticky at all!! Oh and the smell? Watermelon which I love!! I think the packaging is really cute and sleek nothing to bulky and pretty much fits anywhere! This line has a range of shades and cost £6.19 in boots or Superdrug.

Rimmel Apocolips: Across the universe
One of my favourite lip glosses as I'm sure you all know by now, the famous Apocolips by Rimmel! Absolutely brilliant, the pigmentation, the different colours, definitely not sticky, just not that fond of the smell but it can be ignored. If your interested it smells of that makeup smell if I make any sense. Its not glossy or matte but a nice In between! I absolutely adore them! In Superdrug or boots they are sold at 6.49

Nyx matte lip cream: Stolkhom SMLc02
My next two lipgloses are matte formulas. Starting with again Nyx, their soft matte lip cream, although it has the word matte which in my head formulates the word dry, this is not at all, its more of a cream that dries matte. So moisturising, again the pigmentation, the colour selection is spot on. This smells of butter cream which I don't mind at all. The packaging is small and cute :) this can be purchased Nyx online for £5.50.

Bourjois Rogue edition velvet: 02 Frambourjoise
Lastly my newest purchase the Bourjoise rougue edition velvet. The colour selection is not much as there is only 4 or 5 shades to choose from, however they have some bold bright colours that look awesome especially for spring and summer. Again the matte isn't drying and they are so long lasting! I think a little less pigmented then the Nyx matte lip creams. they can be found in Superdrug from £8.99. A little pricey but they are one of the best matte finishes from drugstore and high end.

What's your favourite Lipgloss?

Dupes for highend makeup

19 June 2014

Hello my lovely beauties, I know by my blog title you all are excited (hope you are anyways) I love makeup but most of all I love saving money on good deals! Especially when it comes to high end makeup, so I have for you today dupes that I have found around my room. take a look at what I have come across!

Firstly from one of my recent haul, the naked 2 palette by Urban Decay. I found this palette from MUA which seem to have the exact shades. the naked palette's eye shadow are of course much more creamier but the MUA costing only £4 I think deserves some applause. And I don't know if they purposely chose the exact same shades or just a coincidence (I doubt it!) there's even a MUA palette for the naked 1 palette too, so I'm sure maybe they'll get one out for the naked 3 palette to haha!
My review on the naked1  palette here.

Another brilliant dupe I found, cant believe I have both these products, the face illuminator, strobe cream by mac and lumi magique by L'oreal. They both do exactly the same thing but one of them is fraction of the cost! You can apply this on top of your moisturiser or under your foundation and it gives that dewy glowy skin.

So far the elf eye primer is the only good drugstore eye primer that comes a little close to my favourite ever urban decay eye primer potion! it applies in a similar manner I would say. I obviously keep the UD one for special occasions!

Moving on to lipsticks now :) Mac lipsticks to be precise...
A recent splurge made by meh, but has quickly become my favourite, Mac all fired up (that's what it's called) and I couldn't believe when I found a dupe. this is mac all fired up lipstick and Borjois new rouge edition velvet lip gloss in the shade 02 Frambourjoise.... they both have  matte finish and the shades are practically the same! to add these Bourjois velvet lip glosses are by far my favourite when it comes to matte lip glosses!

Mac velvet teddy (my favourite peach tone nude) and Revlon mauve it over. I would say velvet teddy is just a bit more orange (you know that beautiful peach tone I mean), well anyways I love both the shades equally, and Revlon mauve it over is by far my favourite drugstore nude as it's matte as well.

Mac Russian Red and Avon eternal flame, matte shades and I love the colour, my favourite shade of red :) Goes well with my skin tone.

Mac spirit and Topshop mink, didn't realise they were dupes until I was swatching lipsticks on my hand and realised I have the exact same colour haha I don't really use spirit because it's a little dark for nude for me.
Although in the image you cannot see properly, I apologise but in real life they are more or less the same.

Sorry for the sponge being dirty, only realised after taking the picture, as  I have used it.
I have actually already done a post on these two the beauty blender (pink) and the real techniques complexion sponge. I know this is cheating as it's not a dupe however I think it's the closest best thing to the beauty blender. Read my review here.

I was dying, literally for this Mac brush. I just loved the size and what it's like, and for me its like the ideal brush to blend out concealer under the eye. After I made the splurge, I ordered some elf brushes as I wanted the powder brush and cam across this elf small stippling brush and thought its cheap might as well buy it. Its practically the same thing! so I decided I will use this brush for now and pack away my mac brush!

I'm sure you have all heard sigma brushes are like dupes for mac brushes. you didn't hear wrong. Sigma even had the same numbering code e.g. Mac 217 sigma 217, but now they've changed it to F and a number for face brushes, E and number for eye brushes, P and number for precision brushes and I think L and number for lip brushes. damn copyright sigma! I know mac 217 is known as the best blending brush and I guarantee every makeup artist has one or more then one, so if you think it's too pricey, this sigma e25 blending brush is exactly, and I mean exactly the same (maybe even better =D) and cheaper.

This can be as a question mark? and I'll tell you why. the kick ass concealer only comes in 2 shades, light and medium. but if the shade suits you then, yes its a dupe for half the price.

The S&G has a corrector, concealer and powder in one. the corrector, if it's the right shade for you, is the exact same as the Bobbi Brown corrector. :) some days I can wear the soap and glory but the shade range sucks so ill stick to my Bobbi brown, which I Love, have a mini rant about this here. LOL

One of my favourite mac blushers, Mac pinch o peach. totally brightens and gives me that healthy look. This is the same as the Nyx blusher (which may I have a mini rave about, I LOVE NYX BLUSHERS!!!! rave over now..)  Nyx bourgeois pig.

Can you tell the difference, on the cheeks it is the exact same colour. Left Mac pinch o peach, right Nyx bourgious pig.

I think that's enough dupes for one day, If you did want any of the above products you have just found a way to save yourself some moneeey! P.s Sorry about any of the pictures, I took majority of them in the night, but too tired to write and upload it last night.

Comment below a dupe of a highend makeup :)

La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo Review

15 June 2014

Review time. Spots, marks and skin problems? French companies really  know their stuff when it comes to skincare. A very well known brand La Roche Posay (if you were like I've never heard of their brand, you will now! ) have a range of products. Long name to say but it's one brand your not likely to forget!

One of their most famous products the Effaclar Duo which I have used for many months and have also recommended this to a number of people, I cannot live without.

Let's start off with my skin, I had breakouts but nothing major like acne, but I had a problem, when these spots were gone they left these horrible marks on my skin which were a purple-ish tone and couldnt quite be covered by concealer!  How annoying, I came across this product and thought I would try it for myself.

I am so glad I did, this is definitely worth the pennies. At first I didn't like it, and then they changed the formula and I went ahead and brought the updated version which is a gel consistency. Thank God! I noticed a visible the next day.

No exaggeration.

Honestly,!
This has become my HG!!! The marks have faded and I think it's unclogged my skin as well. Whatever it was my skin was definitely better.

Honestly try it, you can find this in boots and there's always offers on like 3 for 2 and so on.

I apply it after my cleansing routine in the night sometimes under my moisturiser or instead of and same in the morning. Works for all skin types, sinks into the skin, isn't liquidy or thick and creamy.

I know this product does have some hype around it and defo reason for it. On the packaging there's even money back guarantee!

May Favourites :)

06 June 2014

This month I have really been having a loving bond between me and these products, one that I believe will be very lasting, all not surprisingly beauty related. A lot of things I have brought if you have seen my haul posts I have really enjoyed but I've tried to keep it minimal as possible. enjoy reading :)

Starting with this foundation, I have no idea why I'm so late in trying this but from the moment I have worn this I have loved it, the first one I've tried from the drugstore that has high coverage but yet is very light weight. the colour range is excellent, last all day, however it does flake a little on my very dry parts on my face, although only I notice personally, I have worn this literally everyday since I brought this. my shade is w4.

At the beginning of the month I was breaking out again :( so I opted for my origins spot remover and I noticed my spots decreasing in size very quickly. I used this and my

I love these lashes for an everyday natural look, that I brought 3! honestly its something I've worn a lot this month when I can't be bothered with mascara. they are the Eyelure ones number 155.

Everyone who knows me knows I'm a little crazy over brushes, recently I have discovered my love for the Zoeva silk finish brush. First when I brought this I put it aside and wasn't very fond of it. but lately I've had a mind change. this brush is soft and blends so well! I've used this everyday and equally loved as much as my RT face expert brush. you can buy Zoeva brushes from zoeva.com, or love makeup .com

A blusher that you have probably spotted in my kiko haul video has very much impressed me. It's called crossroad pink and comes in this funky colourful packaging. the shade gives me a very nice summer healthy glow!

You know how I love my mac lipsticks, and this month I brought 3 new shades, although I do really like the shades I purchased this is like left me speechless! its that sexy! its a hot pink with red undertone called 'all fired up' matte finish. I am so glad I brought this after swatching it couple of times!

Lastly something that will remind you of spring and summer, this pastel minty colour nail polish from barry'm. with plain outfits it brings them to life. in general I just really like colour so I thought I'd include it in my monthly favourites. The shade of the Barry'm nailpolish is called mint green for those of you interested!

P.S. I have recently had a blog name change, previously it was named lipsiie, now it is called Yasmiinella, so don't forget to follow me on all other social media platforms

Huge debenhams haul!!

04 June 2014

Embrace yourself when there's 10% off on high end makeup I don't think I could help myself! I  brought all this in two lots so I didn't go crazy in one day, and I did think long and hard.. Believe me I had a lot more in my basket before I purchased! And because I did buy everything couple of weeks ago I got to try these so I can tell you what I think of them so far...
