My ultimate budget makeup bag

09 November 2013

I have dry skin, and therefore the products i have shown is more suitable for dry to normal skin. i have chosen 6 to 7 products which you can use consistently and keep in your makeup bag as stable.
all the products can be brought from the high street or drugstore, nearly all products are under £10 except one which you wont need to purchase you'll see what i'm talking about when you keep reading..

Starting off with Foundation:
i think this foundation is so great, its the Rimmel Match perfection foundation, i use the shade 400 in natural beige. Comes in a range of shades.
the foundation retails in Boots, Superdrugs, and most supermarkets. costs at around £6.99.

i prefer this foundation to others, as the shade is perfect for me, other drugstore foundations i have found are not yellow enough for my skin!
this gives a light to medium coverage, and has a dewy finish. it blends really well. really good for my dry skin as its really hydrating.

I am going to write a blog on foundations, budget and high end.. Soo keep an eye out for that..

next is concealers. i am such a concealer fan so couldn't help but include two.. firstly one is for coverage dark circles, blemishes and scars. yes that's right people its the lasting perfection concealer by collection. i have written a blog comparing this to the Maybelline fit me here. this retails for £4.19 shade deep 004.
The other concealer is to highlight under the eyes, its the match perfection line again from Rimmel, the shade i use is 004 soft beige at £5.99

the next product is questionable whether or not you would like to include this as not all people use powders. i certainly with my dry skin do not need to. however sometimes if i feel to i find myself reaching out for the Rimmel stay matte powder in silky beige 005, this doesn't cake the face or dry it out completely. i just apply a little with big brush. this makes my foundation last all day... retails for £3.99.

(if i use a primer, i use the Rimmel fix and perfect primer £6.99, i lost mine =()
how funny all my face products are from Rimmel! guess they're just good.

i lurvvv this eyeliner, i have a problem with eyeliners and becoming grey! this eyeliner just solves that problems, its black like proper black! this is the body shop eyeliner which is obviously brought from body shop retails at £9.00. this lasts all day, and doesn't smudge. feel as though this doesn't get mentioned enough. so thought id do my mini rave ;)

You can't have one mascara as i will know, i use loads of different ones and i know i will keep trying and buying new ones but i think as standard mascara that volumises your lashes i really like this one. i know of some other ones too.. cost around £8.49, i think mascaras in the high street are way too high priced..
Moving on to chizling those cheek bones, well i have an excellent product, sleek contour kit, which i brought for £6.49. this comes in a duo of highlight and contour. i like using both, and its really pigmented. this contour isn't orange toned (thankfully)..
although i have mentioned above the sleek comes in a duo, couldn't help but mention a highlighter, this is so beautiful, it costs 13.99, OK a little bit more expensive then all the other products mentioned but seriously look at the size of this. it stands out on all skin types, and isn't very shimmerry. but gives a nice sheen. i like to apply this on the tops of cheeks and on the bridge of my nose. BTW you may just stick to the sleek duo contour kit highlighter, but just thought i'd mention this as well.. in case your highlight and contour obsessed like me. the shade is sun power 1. like seriously well done GOSH.

A swatch on my hand from right to left, gosh highlighter, sleek contour kit, Rimmel stay matte powder, collection lasting perfection, rimmel match perfection highlighter, Rimmel match perfection foundation.

LASTLY.. feel all ready but no colour to the face.. no i haven't forgotten..

Blushers, eye shadows and lipsticks are the three things that you cannot use use one product, one colour or one brand of... This varies therefore i could not pin it down to one, however if you are looking at eye shadow palettes from the drugstore i would highly recommend the sleek eye shadow palettes. There are wide range of shades to choose from, highly pigmented. I may be doing a blog on that in the bear time future so keep a look out for that. I love using different brands of blush and different shades.. I can do a blog post on my favourite blushers if you want, and lastly lipsticks.. I have already done a blog on nude lipsticks here. And one on lipsticks to wear in different seasons here. If you wanted to see swatches i can do that for you.

Disclaimer: all the products are my own, i have purchased all with my own money, i have not been given any of the products, and the review is entirely my own opinion.
